STORY OF ATAT.
With deep family origins in Baalbek, Lebanon known as the “City of the Sun,” music runs in his bloodline. On his father’s side, his dad and uncles performed together in a band across villages in Lebanon before bringing their talent to the United States. Where they then continued performing including appearances at the Detroit Opera House , while building a new life through hard work and dedication.
On his mother’s side, the musical legacy continues. His grandfather Akil Kadour, a well known and respected singer from Aleppo, Syria; built his name performing across Syria and Lebanon, recognized for his voice and presence throughout the region. Music didn’t stop with him. It carried through the entire family. His mother sings, his aunts sing, and his uncles sing ,making music a constant presence in everyday life.
His parents met through it. His grandfather performed alongside his father and his band, bringing both sides of the family together through the same passion that now lives through him.
Raised in Dearborn and Dearborn Heights, Michigan; Atat grew up surrounded by culture, rhythm, and sound just minutes away from the birthplace of Motown. Being around that environment, combined with the rise of modern rap and trap culture, played a major role in shaping his musical identity.
As a kid, Atat was drawn to performance early. Inspired by icons like Michael Jackson and Chris Brown, he started out dancing, naturally developing stage presence and rhythm.
As he entered his teenage years, his focus shifted into hip-hop and rap, influenced by artists like Eminem, Lil Snupe, Ace Hood, and Speaker Knockerz. Their storytelling, hunger, and energy helped shape his direction.
Even before releasing his first official single in 2022, Atat was already fully invested in his craft. He taught himself how to play piano while producing his own beats he spent years building his sound behind the scenes. Long before the spotlight, he was putting in the work, refining his artistry, and preparing for his moment.
That moment is now.
Recently, Atat took a major step forward by winning the Music Industry Showcase hosted by Hot 107.5 WGPR in Detroit, performing his standout track “Medusa X” from his project Bats & Butterflies. The win marked a defining moment in his career, solidifying his presence as an emerging artist to watch.
Blending cultural roots, real-life emotion, and modern rap/trap influence, Atat isn’t just making music... He’s carrying a legacy while building his own lane.
